FLINTSTONE PARK UPDATE | FEBRUARY 2025

Great news! The barricades blocking the drive to the southwest area of the lower parking lot at Flintstone Park have been removed. This has opened the waterfront parking.

How did the City of Oak Harbor Acquire the Sculpture?

Sculpture Northwest (SNW) is the entity behind the project. The value of the sculpture is $500,000. It was purchased by George Drake, a humanitarian, philanthropist, founder of Big Rock Garden in Bellingham, as well as the founder of SNW.  Sadly, Drake passed away before before he got to see the sculpture placed in its permanent home.

The George Drake Estate donated donated the sculpture to the City of Oak Harbor and the majority of funding for installation is also being covered by the George Drake Estate through SNW.
