The Lagoon Dock Replacement Project is a grant-funded project to replace the over 50-year-old Lagoon dock at Windjammer Park.
City staff will construct a new dock at the Lagoon with similar dimensions to the current dock providing the following features:
- A floating dock will adjust with tides and float, providing a safer entrance and exit for watercraft users
- Provides Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access by providing railings and non-slip surfaces and the ability for the dock ramp to rise to meet users' needs
- Using weather-resistant materials instead of wood or creosote decreases the frequency of preventative maintenance and harmful chemicals in the Lagoon
Schedule
Staff estimates the construction to take approximately five months to complete, and the goal is to finish the project by Memorial Day.
Funding
Up to $50,000 funded by the T-Mobile Hometown Grant.
