Park Overview
Fort Nugent Park is a 40-acre community park. The city purchased 20 acres for this park in 1991. The other 20 acres is owned by the Oak Harbor School District and is leased to the City of Oak Harbor. The park features a variety of sports fields, including six soccer fields, two football fields, one baseball field, a basketball court, and volleyball court. The park also includes open green space, walking trails, and a disc golf course. Restrooms are centrally located in the park.
Additionally, the park includes a large community-built playground, built in 2006 with the help of community volunteers and donations. The playground was designed with input from elementary students in Oak Harbor. Next to the playground, there are 2 picnic shelters that can be rented for private use.
