Originally established in 1970 by Ordinance 278 as the Personnel Advisory Board, it was transitioned to the Personnel Appeals Board in 2010. This Board consists of three members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Board's duties include hearing grievances, reviewing city personnel policies and conducting appeals of disciplinary matters by the Mayor.
