Overview
The Police Community Advisory Board (CAB) was established in 1991 by the Mayor and City Council, with the goal of establishing a close relationship between the Police Department and the community. All of the Board members are chosen as "stakeholders" from the community, including one High School student, retired citizens, educators, military representatives, business owners or managers, and several City residents.
The goal is to provide the Committee insight into the department and for the Committee to provide information to the department regarding what the Citizens of Oak Harbor are looking for from their police department as well as other suggestions. These dedicated members also participated in graffiti removal projects across the city, work with our citizen volunteers, reserve officers, military personnel, city staff and many others to support the department and the city. National Night Out has provided a platform to interact one on one with many citizens. It provides a great opportunity for outreach to citizens of all ages.
