Flags should remain at full-staff until close of business or sunset on November 11, 2025, then resume at half-staff until Wednesday, November 20, 2025

Flag Lowering - November 5, 2025 (Former Vice President Richard Cheney)

I am deeply saddened by the death of former Vice President Richard “Dick” Cheney, 84, and have his family in my thoughts in this difficult time. I hereby direct that Washington state and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory immediately.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on the day of interment. An updated directive will be issued once the date has been confirmed
