On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Oak Harbor Police Department Officers, Island County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, and emergency and fire personnel from Oak Harbor, Island County, and the United States Navy responded to a reported two-vehicle head-on collision on East Crescent Harbor Road near the intersection of Western Drive As units arrived, life-saving measures were started on a female driver who was entrapped inside her vehicle, which had been struck head-on by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene on foot, and other units began canvassing the surrounding area.
