Oak Harbor, WA — February 28, 2025 In response to ongoing public inquiries and the comments circulating on social media regarding Mayor Pro Tempore Hizon’s statement regarding Resolution 25-05 and an investigation report involving former Councilmember Hoffmire, we want to clarify that the investigation report will be in fact be released.
The City has received public record requests and we want to assure the community that the City is not holding on to the report; rather, we are following the proper channels. Due to the nature of the report, the City staff, in consultation with the City Attorney, must review all records to ensure that any redactions necessary are applied, or any third-party notice is provided. We are committed to fulfilling all open public records requests, and our dedicated Public Records Officer is ensuring that the report will be released as soon as the appropriate review process is complete.
