October 5, 2024 - Oak Harbor, WA | The Oak Harbor Police Department has arrested a juvenile in connection with a threatening message posted on TikTok that referenced violence against women and local schools. The message, which TikTok flagged, was brought to the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and provided to the Oak Harbor Police Department, prompting an immediate investigation. Upon receiving the report, officers acted swiftly to identify the individual responsible for the post. The investigation led to the arrest of a local juvenile, who was booked into the Island County Juvenile Detention Center. The department takes threats of this nature extremely seriously and acts with urgency to ensure the safety of our community and schools. The Oak Harbor Police Department does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public or our schools. The department continues to work closely with school officials and maintain open communication to ensure the safety of students and staff. The investigation remains ongoing, and due to the individual's status as a juvenile, no further details will be released.
